Knives
Made of Damascus Steel
|
Damascus
steel is the combining of different metals
to make one non-homogenous steel. It is
different from Wootz, which is the casting
of one homogenous (but impure) steel.
It is also different from Laminated Steel
which is the union of a harder metal core
with 2 softer metal pieces. Each has its
place in the knife world. This page, though,
is strictly for Damascus steel - whether
pattern-welded, twisted (cable) or folded.
